It's Been a While...

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so terribly long since my last post. I'm currently out of Portland dealing with family stuff, so I didn't really have "Portland" stuff to post. It'll probably be a while before I attempted to get this going consistently again. As a thank you for your patience, here's a few pics of my favorite vintage store in Oklahoma City, The Rink, purely for your enjoyment! Note: you'll definitely see a color trend going on, everything amazing just happened to be the same colors!!!! :-)
The booth with these amazing items was so reasonably priced I would have bought it all if I had anyway of getting it to Portland! We're talking like $50 for the smaller tables, great deals!!

Also, I'd like to introduce you to my new friend, Bev! Yep, that's right...Bev!! She's my super, duper awesome moped!!

Stay awesome all you vintage lovers!! I'll be back as soon as I can!!!

House of Vintage - Hawthorne and SE 33rd

You've got to check out House of Vintage! It's one of the biggest vintage shops I've been to in all of Portland! They have a ton of vintage cloths from most decades, furniture, luggage, trunks, dishes, accessories and probably anything else you can think of. Again, I found a few owls and I absolutely love the blue porcelain owl with the green eyes and beak! How cute, right?

This is a freaking awesome awesome chair! I love the colors and triangles, the shape, and absolute love the wood at the base. It makes me think of a barrel and it's just completely different than any other chair I've ever seen. One thing I love about the vintage furniture that stands the test of time is that you don't see anything like it anywhere else. It's unique and it's fun!

Check out House of Vintage when you're in the area! You never know what you'll find there! You can waste so much time in this store, so make sure to have at least an hour! Peace out ya'll!!

Sorel's - Hawthorne and SE 37th

Sorel's is another great vintage shop off  Hawthorne. They sell new and mid-century modern furniture, lighting, and decor. My last stop into this eclectic shop had me pretty excited because of the number of owls I found in just about every corner. As you know I love owls so I have to share them with you! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

I will warn you that everything's a bit expensive for my taste, but it's still fun to browse and think about where these awesome items would fit in my apartment! The top left and the bottom center are my favorites! Their big eyes are so adorable! :)

Feel free to share your favorite vintage shops with me. Where do you find charming owls? What are some of your favorite home decor items?

Really Good Stuff - Hawthorne and SE 13th

Really Good Stuff is yet another fun store to explore and it's right next door to Lounge Lizard. It's more of an antique store, but there are always a few awesome finds! There's just about everything you can think of packed in this store, including an old, pink dental chair. I'm sure that is on everyone's wish list. You'll also find vintage bags, coats, trunks, cameras, pinball machines, and the list goes on and on. I only have a few items to share with you today, but maybe I'll take another crack at it in the future. I would say a lot of the stuff is over-priced, but it's always fun to wander and discover things you wish you could afford. Also, there's a very nice, fat cat in residence, and that adds a little more to my value for me, since I'm a cat lady! ;-)

Check out Really Good Stuff while you're in the area for Lounge Lizard. Also, the food carts across the street are worth checking out. My personal favorite is Wiffie Pies! Their savory BBQ briquette pie is absolutely delicous!

In Full Bloom

When it comes to style, I like to keep things as simple as possible. Give me 20 minutes and I'm good to go. My dress is from Sloan boutique off Hawthorne and it's rather bright so I toned it down with a navy cardigan and pulled it all together with a matching blue stone necklace. Once I stepped outside, I was excited to be matching the beautiful blooming trees in front of my apartment.

I'm in love with Spring because of the blooming trees I see off every street! The sun was out last weekend and even in this little ensemble I was feeling pretty toasty walking down Hawthorne...I may have done a little dance. It was positively delightful!

How much time do you spend on your outfit each day? What are you favorite boutiques in the Portland area? I always love to find new places and I'm pretty sure I love just about everything in Sloan Boutique! You should check it out!

How did you enjoy your first day in the sun?

Lounge Lizard - Hawthorne and SE 13th

Lounge Lizard is my favorite vintage store in all of Portland! They scour all of Portland and buy vintage furniture and decor, give it a little love, and sell if for very reasonable prices. Every time I enter this store it's a whole new experience. If you find something you love, it's smart to buy it right away, there's a good chance there are a lot of other people that will love it as well!

I think just about everyone will agree that their lighting is one of their most impressive sells! I'm always mesmerized by the plethora of colors hanging from their ceilings! I can't wait to buy my own place here in Portland just so I have the opportunity to buy and utilize this lighting to make my house feel more like a home.

Another thing I love about Lounge Lizard is the eclectic range of items they always have every time you walk in. They don't just focus on one niche style or the clique items only good for nostalgic purposes, but they bring a number of decades into one place to satisfy just about any buyer! Here's just a small portion of the amazing finds available at Lounge Lizard.

You should definitely check out Lounge Lizard the next time you're in the Hawthorne District to fully understand what I'm talking about. It is absolutely worth your time!
